Yes, we have special offers on a regular basis
The Greenhouse base is a Steel Plinth specifically designed for each model of Greenhouse. These are highly recommended as they speed up the build process and eliminate the need to construct a brick base. The base also raises the greenhouse frame and ensures the correct operation of the greenhouse doors.
We have included them in with the price of our greenhouses so there are no surprises, however if you feel you don't need it please contact us and we can take it off for you.
With smaller greenhouses you can site them directly on the earth by concreting-in the ground anchors to ensure a stable foundation.
We do not recommended soil installations for larger greenhouses as the weight can cause subsidence and create problems with the door operation and glass fitment.
We recommend that your base is made of either a cast concrete base or well laid slab base.
Slabs have the advantage of providing drainage inside the greenhouse.
Yes we have our own team of Qualified installers
Our installers do not provide soil installations, due to subsidence issues. We want you to have your greenhouse for a long time so would always recommend a solid foundation to secure the greenhouse to.
Please always check the dimensions of the greenhouse and construct your base slightly larger to ensure the base is not damaged when you drill in to it, to secure the greenhouse.
Please note that greenhouses are slightly larger than the imperial dimensions, we always advise to use the metric greenhouse dimensions from the installation manual.
Horticultural Glass - Standard greenhouse glass which generally comes in 2ftx2ft sheets and overlaps in the greenhouse
If it breaks it breaks into big sharp unpredictable shards
Toughened Glass - Generally comes in long panes which join with a linkage strip. If it breaks it shatters into tiny pieces so you are less likely to get cut.
If you live in a windy area, toughened glass is our recommended glazing option as it is heavier and stronger.
Polycarbonate is twin walled and opaque, so can be useful for starting seeds and tender plants, it is the lightest weight option for your greenhouse.
For less mobile people, children or animals present we strongly recommend that you select only greenhouses glazed with toughened safety glass or with polycarbonate panels.
